49ers linebacker Aldon Smith arrested in Northern California
The San Jose Mercury News also reported that the San Francisco 49ers were given Thursday off after having five days of practice.
“It was sadness, that’s what it was, sadness for a guy, a person. We care about that guy, deeply”. “Deeply”. After the incident, police said, Smith exited his vehicle and caused additional damage to the parked vehicle with his auto door.
“Any time they have anything in their life that’s a distraction, it takes away from their ability to focus”, Baalke said. Get the help. You don’t have to walk alone.
“He has been turning his life around. People stumble”.
“Justice will be served”, Smith told San Francisco’s KTVU. I understand where this goes on the news. It’s time. I need to speak.
Former 49er Charles Haley, who’s being inducted into the Professional Soccer Corridor of Fame this weekend, advised ESPN’s Jim Trotter on Friday that Smith “wants assist, and I am not going to surrender on him”.
Smith does elaborate to a situation he “could have handled differently”. “There’s no DUI.” He added: “I’m sorry to anybody I let down”. “As far as everything is concerned, it’ll work out how it’s supposed to work out”.
The NFL Network’s Michael Silver asked 49ers owner Jed York if he made any decisions regarding the beleaguered linebacker and he replied: “Not yet”. But Vernon and I have had conversations, and we’ll leave it at that.
Vernon shared what his distractions were and quite honestly I don t much about it, in terms of his relationship (with the advisor), Baalke said.
Someone arrested on a DUI and having Smith’s past issues with alcohol would undoubtedly discuss their sobriety as part of their defense.
“He did not complete it satisfactorily”, Clarke said.
The judge may follow through on that vow – but it probably won’t happen right away.
If they file as expected, Smith would be arraigned October 6.
The San Francisco 49ers have released outside linebacker Aldon Smith, the team announced on Friday. Six months later he faced assault weapons charges after an incident at a party in which suffered minor stab wounds.
I’m not exactly sure how the arresting process works when it comes to driving under the influence (thank god).
This is the fifth time Smith, 25, has been arrested or charged with a crime since January 2012, a DUI arrest in Miami Beach.
Smith, who when at his best is one of the game’s top pass-rushers, was entering a contract year after he missed the first nine games of 2014 serving an NFL suspension for violations of the league’s substance-abuse and personal-conduct policies. He also received a $2,000 fine, 235 hours of community service and can not possess guns or ammunition during his probation period. They say at 8:50 p.m. Thursday night, as Smith was trying to park his vehicle in a complex on Moreland Way in Santa Clara, he hit another vehicle.
“This wasn’t a DUI”, Smith said as he left the jail.
