5.2 magnitude quake hits Nepal; tremors rock Bihar too
A 17-storied building came crashing down in Taiwan as quake hit its southern part on Saturday, killing at least seven and trapping many under the debris.
An natural disaster with magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale hit Kathmandu, Nepal yesterday evening sending shockwaves as far as northern Bihar. Around 10 people are reportedly injured Anamnagar area of Kathmandu.
Nepal was shattered by a powerful 7.8-magnitude natural disaster on April 25 a year ago that killed over 9,000 people and left behind a trail of devastation.
Though some reports suggest some injuries, no casualties have been reported after the quake yet.
The tremor shock was felt not only in the Central region but also in the Western region and the Bihar of India.
Taiwan was preparing for the Chinese Lunar New Year when the quake struck 28km North-East of Pingtung country.
Panicked residents rushed out of their homes into open spaces as the ground shook beneath them. Many people in India also lost their lives.
To hasten up rescue operations, the government has mobilized the national army.
