5.7-inch Meizu Pro 5 officially announced, sports Samsung’s Exynos 7420, USB
Even with leaked photos photos popping up around the web, Meizu is still determined to keep their flagship smartphone, the Meizu MX5 Pro, under wraps as best as they can before its release. That is considered as a powerful SoC that also drives the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge.
Previous comments from Meizu’s President, Bai Yongxiang, suggests that Pro 5 will be having two versions, one powered by the deca-core MT-6797 CPU from MediaTek.
The Meizu Pro 5 features a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution and 2.5D arc glass protection. The 3GB/32GB version of the Meizu PRO 5 is listed at 2,799 Yuan €393/$438, while the beefier 4GB/64GB Meizu PRO 5 price is set at 3,099 Yuan €435/$485. Both of these variants will support microSD expansion though, in case you need more storage.
In the photography department, the Pro 5 relies on a 21MP camera with Sony IMX230 sensor, which measures 1/2.4 inches in size. It will be made available in the country from October 12 onwards at the above mentioned costs. The 5-megapixel snapper (OmniVision’s OV5670 sensor, f/2.2 aperture) is located up front. However, Meizu appears to have moved away from that discourse since the Company now focuses on the Exynos 7420 chipset that will give power to the Pro 5.
Further, this device comes with mCharge 2.0 technology, which charges the battery up to 65% in just half an hour. The Meizu Pro 5 will sport a 21-megapixel rear camera with autofocus along with a 5 megapixel FaceTime camera for selfies and video chats.
We’ve crossed paths with the high-powered Meizu PRO 5 several times over the past few months, but today it’s official. The 3,050mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and you’ll also be able to take advantage of the phone’s built-in fingerprint scanner which is located below the display (mBack physical button).
