5 die in Indiana vehicle, semi crash
Five people were killed in a chain-reaction crash after a semitrailer slammed into the back of another vehicle in a construction zone in western Indiana, police said on Friday. A tanker rear-ended another semi and caught fire on southbound I-65 near Route 43 shortly after midnight.
According to police, one of the semis was going too fast through a construction area and it hit a van, pushing the van off the road and crashing into another semi.
Riley said two adults and a small child were killed in a van that burst into flames near the semi and one driver died after their vehicle was knocked off the interstate during the crash. Kim Riley with Indiana State police. One other person was injured.

Northbound and southbound I-65 was closed from the 178 exit to the 175 exit. It is expected to stay closed until noon.
