The Amityville Horror – Released in 1979, this movie was based on Lutz family’s real experiences when they spent 28 days in their home in Amityville, N.Y, 112 Ocean Avenue.
Dahmer – This 2002 film was based on the notoriety of Jeffrey Dahmer, who was a rapist and a serial killer.
Monster – the film of 2003, made an excellent record of being the winner of 17 awards that include 1 Oscar too. The movie was based on the true events on the notoriety of Aileen Wuornos, who was a prostitute and later turned into a serial killer.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose- This movie needs no introduction. Released in 2005, this film focuses on the issue of exorcism. The story is said to be based loosely on Anneliese Michel. This woman who underwent an exorcism that took her life. She suffered from dehydration and malnutrition.
Black Water – This movie was released in 2007, and was based on real events of a crocodile’s attack that was said to happen in 2003, in Northern Australia.
It has been said that for creating those vicious monsters, the film had used some footage of real crocodiles.
