5-Year-Old San Mateo Boy Found Safe in Sacramento County: CHP
An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday morning after a 5-year-old San Mateo boy was abducted from his home, allegedly by his father, according to the sheriff’s office.
Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael Steele at about 7 a.m.in the Rosemont area of unincorporated Sacramento County and took his son to a hospital for a hand injury, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The public was on the lookout for Jacob Steele, the boy, in a suspect vehicle described as a 2015 grey Toyota Tacoma for a short time before the Amber Alert was called off. Authorities said they anxious for the boy’s safety because he was allegedly taken by force. Steele’s wife, who is in her 40s, and his father, in his 60s, each suffered facial injuries, sheriff’s officials said.
Jacob was taken to the hospital, but is believed to be OK, officers said. Their conditions were not available.
The boy, 5-year-old Jacob Steele, was found in a Sacramento area parking lot, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.
It is unclear if Michael Steele has been arrested. Deputies pulled him over, arrested him without incident and recovered his son, who was wearing pajama trousers and no shirt.
