58000 students get their Leaving Certificate results

The anxious wait is nearly over for more than 56,000 Leaving Certificate students, who will receive their results on Wednesday.

Students, teachers and parents vented their near universal upset at the paper in June, in one of the major talking points of the exams.

Students can collect their results from their schools, or online from noon on examinations.ie.

“If you add alcohol into the mix, this can make an already challenging situation even more hard for young people and put their health and safety at risk, particularly if they drink to levels they haven’t done before”, commented AAI chief executive, Suzanne Costello.

She also said the lack of resources for guidance and counselling in secondary schools has led to high dropout rates in college. Those remaining politicians who have yet to say whether we have their support I will be looking for in the coming weeks.

Ms McLaughlin advised people who may be disappointed with their results to take a step back and assess their options.

The results will determine whether student will get a college place and which courses they will be offered.
