6 'Game of Thrones' theories about season 7 episode 5, 'Eastwatch'
We all know that the penultimate episode of every season is when the dragon dung hits the fan, and with only seven episodes in Season 7, the sixth installment promises to be a showstopper, as Jon and his allies venture North of the Wall to capture a White Walker and blow this whole conspiracy wide open. Best known for his original creations at BeautifulDeath.com, HBO’s official episode-by-episode guide to the most iconic deaths on Game of Thrones, Robert M. Ball’s breathtaking artwork seems to pop right off the table as you assemble these 1000-piece puzzles.
Tonight on Game of Thrones, we witnessed an unbelievable moment between Drogon and Jon Snow. He informs them that his brother and sister are alive. Certainly no one would argue that she’s an inferior candidate compared to Queen Cersei, whose sole interests are: preserving herself; protecting her increasingly small circle of allies; and punishing her increasingly wide circle of enemies. Does she think Jaime is lost? He wryly points out a silver lining to her: should he fail, she no longer has to worry about the King in the North. Dany responds that she’s gotten used to having him around.
In the trailer, we can get a glimpse at the army of the dead. The ol’ mad king tendencies come to the fore when she opts to melt Warden of the South Lord Randyll Tarly and his son (Dickon, we hardly knew ye).
You can always rely on Jon Snow to deliver the goods in a cave! It’s not like we’re going to be introduced to any more of them, at least. Given the relationship he had to Davos in season three and we ended up with a situation where Davos was the only Tyrion was going to get to King’s Landing to do what he needed to do. Just like Joe Dempsie (Gendry) and Hannah Murray (Cassie), Scolding has previously appeared in Skins. In the books, she traveled to King’s Landing around the time that Tyrion was conceived, to celebrate Aerys’ tenth year on the throne. Where Jon Snow was conceived? Jaime needs to tell Cersei about the dragons. Along with asking Jaime to never betray her like that again, she also agrees they should probably play into Daenerys’ hands so that they can work out how to make Daenerys play into their hands in return.
Game of Thrones has said goodbye to Walder Frey’s men as Arya kicked off the season 7 wiping the floor with these guys. She gets off the dragon and he flies away. Arya is not swayed by his locked door, however, and breaks in to discover a raven note.
Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister and Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen in a scene from Game of Thrones. But Cersei has to know that just the thing to motivate an increasingly hopeless Jaime is a future that seems worth fighting for. The Hound looks to be using Gendry’s hammer to smash one of the wights. We wonder if she’s talking to Sansa (Sophie Turner) or maybe Bran?
But that all changed in “Eastwatch” when Davos made a pitstop in Flea Bottom to recruit Gendry to Jon Snow’s cause after smuggling Tyrion into King’s Landing to talk to Jaime.
Gendry’s addition to the story makes decent sense because now they need a blacksmith to make swords with dragon glass.
