6 hurt in South Florida building explosion
A few type of explosion has blown out a portion of the top of a tall residential building in Sunny Isles Beach in northeast Miami-Dade County, according to media reports.
Several people were hurt after an explosion shook a high-rise in the Miami area on Friday. Three sent to the hospital for treatment of possible serious injuries and the other was treated and released. Two people are also reportedly trapped in an elevator in the building.
The building was under construction at the time, officials said. “There was water going everywhere”.
The building was under construction, according to WTVJ, and parts of Collins Avenue has been closed, causing a massive traffic jam. They have not yet said when it will reopen.
The condo is located in a resort city of about 21,000 people 20 miles north of Miami.
There are at least four holes on the walls on the top floor of the southeast side of the building.
