76ers suspend center Jahlil Okafor for 2 games after fight

The Sixers have chose to suspend Okafor for two games, effective immediately, due to his recent actions.

In the video, first released by TMZ Sports, Okafor can be seen yelling at another man on the street while someone holds him back.

Okafor is averaging 17.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for the Sixers, who beat the Lakers 103-91 on Tuesday for the first win of the 2015-16 season.

Okafor will miss Wednesday’s game at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks and Saturday night’s home game against the Denver Nuggets.

The Boston Police Department is now investigating the extremely publicized fight after a police report was filed, and the Sixers plan to handle the situation “internally” after they complete their own investigation. He said he told 76ers coach Brett Brown about what happened during the team’s plane ride to Houston. The initial video of the incident was posted last Thursday.
