83-Year-Old Man Assaulted In Santa Ana Parking Lot

An 81-year-old man is hospitalized in critical, but stable condition after being beaten this morning in the parking lot of a Santa Ana restaurant.

Surveillance footage shows Nguyen pulling into the parking lot where he got out of his vehicle.

The assailant then punches and kicks Nguyen as he lies on the pavement. He was attacked without provocation by the assailant. The man was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. The victim’s family says the disturbing video is gut wrenching, but are hoping it will help put his attacker behind bars.

The attack was captured on surveillance video, which showed Nguyen walking unassumingly when a passerby punches him, knocking the 83-year-old to the ground.

“I just couldn’t believe someone could do this to our father”, son Peter Nguyen said, “He’s the nicest man. He’s the last person you would think would be attacked, or have something like this happen”. He was unshaven and wearing a gray long sleeve shirt or black sweater. The suspect was described as being between 40 and 50 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
