90% support demonetisation in PM App survey
The Opposition parties have united to corner the government over hardships caused to commoners by the cash shortage that followed Modi’s surprise November 8 announcement pulling 1000- and 500-rupee notes out of circulation.
Opposition leaders have been demanding that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi speak in parliament over the currency withdrawal but the right-wing leader has so far refused. The official Narendra Modi app has been updated with a demonetisation survey following the increase in public grievances.
The last question on the survey requested people to share their unique ideas, suggestions or insights that they had. This comment by the AIMIM president is in response to the new move by the Central Government, which came up with a mobile application which allows people to give their opinion on the demonetisation move and the claimed fight against black money.
“Everyone is suffering due to the Prime Minister’s move but he is not at all concerned for the poor”, he said, adding the Prime Minister must put forth his views regarding this issue in Parliament.

But now, these people, including those seeking Assembly tickets in lieu of black money, are running from pillar to post to save their faces, ‘ Modi said. After the meeting, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) senior leader Venkaiah Naidu told reporters that the MPs unanimously hailed Modi’s move.
“The overall aim included means to make the implementation stronger and more effective”, it said.
The survey consists of questions with some yes or no answers, some detailed answers and some interactive answers.
“Uttar Pradesh ne bikau maal nahi bheja hai (UP has not sent a man who can be bought)”, said Modi, who represents Varanasi in the Lok Sabha. “I completely disagree with this”, said Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi. In the survey, 92 per cent respondents felt that demonetisation will have an impact on curbing black money, corruption and terrorism. “Secondly, the kind of questions asked”. “I thank people for the historic participation in the survey. This is not a reflection of the real picture”.
