92-Year Old Husband Sings Love Song to Dying Wife
When Erin Solari shared a video recording showing her grandfather saying farewell to her grandmother on her deathbed, she didn’t expect her recording to reach a global audience, touching the hearts of viewers worldwide.
The video has gone viral, and “the outpouring of love lifted everyone’s spirits…including Grandma’s!”
Their granddaughter Erin Solari videotaped her father serenading her mother and posted it on YouTube.
The song Howard sings, “You’ll Never Know”, is a popular tune from the 1940s and 1950s that the couple considered “their love song”, according to Solari’s description of the video.
Ms Solari said the song is what her grandmother would sing when Howard was away fighting in World War II. As we watch Howard look longingly into Laura’s eyes, we see years of adoration and devotion between the sweet couple. Then, the two would sing it together. “I always was your sweetheart”.
Laura (Grandma) is at a hospice facility making peace with her final days.
They later performed it as a duet when they renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary.
In her post, Solari described how Howard and Laura used to sing the love song to each another during family gatherings.
“Moments before this video began, when Grandma heard that Grandpa was in the room, she asked if she could hold him”, Erin explained.
Laura was able to go home after the video was taken.
The most incredible thing about the video is the fact that after meeting with her husband, Laura’s condition improved and she was deemed fit enough to return home and live out her last few days surrounded by her loved ones.
