John Krasinski Couldn’t Focus At Emily Blunt’s US Citizenship Ceremony
Her version was very Hollywood, as she was sworn in with Matthew McConaughey’s wife Camila Alves on the same day (August 4), who was escorted by McConaughey. “I was like, ‘You could have worn a shirt and tie”.
Emily Blunt appears pretty while arriving for her Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance on Tues. night (Sept. eight) in L.A.
“There was a wedge between us, I felt like, yes”, Kimmel said, adding, “We always get the sense that when people come here from England they kind of look down their noses at us”. The star’s USA adventure recently reached a new level when she became a naturalised citizen.
“I hope you know how thrilled I am that you’re one of us now”, Kimmel told Blunt.
Blunt also explained that the “Dallas Buyers Club” actor seemed really into the ceremony, nodding his head as he watched on. “‘Have I ever been a prostitute?’ was another question”.
She also lamented about how hard the test was, arguing that “most Americans would have no idea how to answer any of these questions”.
Although Blunt passed those with flying colors, Kimmel had some questions for her, which weren’t too easy for the actress.
Still, Kimmel quizzed her on what actually matters in America: “What are the giant refillable sodas as 7-Eleven called?”, “What does Major League Baseball stand for?” and “What does DQ stand for?”
“Well we certainly want to change that”, said Barry Westrum, executive vice president of Marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ).
