Mark Webber and Dario Franchitti among pallbearers at Justin Wilson’s funeral
Former team-mate and Formula 3000 rival Mark Webber, who drove alongside Wilson at Jaguar in 2003, was one of the pallbearers at the funeral, along with four-time IndyCar champion Dario Franchitti.
Pall-bearer carry the coffin of racing driver Justin Wilson for his funeral in the Northamptonshire village of Paulerspury on Thursday.
Wilson was struck on the helmet by flying debris in the middle of an IndyCar race in Pennsylvania which left him in a coma on August 23. Funeral services are at St. James the Great Church. A poem by Wilson’s wife, Julia, was read out throughout the service through which she stated “it’s not fair you had such a short life”.
Jonathan Palmer, the former F1 driver who took Wilson on as a protege, delivered a 12-minute eulogy.
Following his death Wilson helped to save six other lives after he donated his organs. He wasn’t in denial about the risks’.

Despite picking up his first point during the US Grand Prix, the team opted against keeping him on and instead Wilson moved to the Champ vehicle World Series.
