The all-new, fourth-generation Prius starred in a spectacular evening production of music, food and special effects to celebrate an industry icon in a way that was anything but expected. Furthermore, according to TrueCar, Toyota is so eager to sell its new model to auto-dealers that it has offered about 11.2% in incentives.

Sales of such cars has been in a double-digit slump so far this year, even while the overall USA market has been approaching levels not seen in a decade. It is believed that there is  used a new, slightly larger 1.8-liter gasoline engine paired with twin electric motors and a nickel-metal hydride battery pack.

A Honda Civic version – which previous year displaced the Prius as California’s top-selling vehicle now made up to 41 mpg on the highway and started at about $20,000. With a profile designed to mimic a sprinter springing from the starting blocks, the hood is lower and the rear end seemingly taller thanks to a crease that runs along each side. Toyota expects a ten percent improvement in EPA estimated MPG on core models. Along with a compact double-wishbone suspension set-up, Toyota claims there’s no boot intrusion, so practicality should be improved, which is good news for families. The updated Prius will have a smaller, lighter motor and better batteries and come with increased fuel efficiency by at least 10 percent – according to the automaker, though no figures have been advanced yet. The vehicle’s exterior shape has been stretched more than the shape of the current model and is similar to that of the latest Chevrolet Volt.

The 2016 model has new standard LED headlights, and among the seven color choices is the new hypersonic red.

As green-car sales are dropping in the United States, the new Prius is released at rather a hard time.
