‘Everest’ movie to open Venice Film Festival
The venice style The video “Everest“, driven by 1996 failure through which eight mankind kicked the bucket in a very very blizzards upon the earth’s most stack, may open the 72nd Venice Film Festival, organizers said on Thursday. It is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Baltasar Kormakur, Nicky Kentish Barnes, Brian Oliver and Tyler Thompson.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Everest” is inspired by true events in 1996, when two different climbing expeditions were faced with an epic struggle for survival in their attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain.
It boasts a star-studded cast, featuring Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Robin Wright, Emily Watson, Keira Kneightly, Sam Worthington and Jake Gyllenhaal in the main roles.
The film was shot on the foothills of Everest in Nepal as well as the Alps in Italy. Presented by Universal Pictures and Walden Media in collaboration with Cross Creek Pictures, it has been adapted for movie screens by William Nicholson (‘Gladiator’) and Oscar victor Simon Beaufoy (‘Slumdog Millionaire’).
The Venice worldwide Film Festival is seen as an important stop on the race to Oscar gold. Universal will distribute the film across the world. It will then be released wide on September 25.
