Woman discovers ‘boyfriend’ is actually woman with strap-on after TWO YEARS
The complainant claims she had no idea that Kye Fortune was not a man until she ripped her blindfold off and recognised her friend Gayle Newland.
After a number of these encounters, the woman became suspicious and lifted her blindfold, only to find a friend she knew well, 25-year-old Gayle Newland, standing before her. We doubt there is a record scratch big enough.
The relationship then developed as “a combination” of “role play” and “sexual fantasy” even after the pair met as themselves after being “introduced” by “Kye”, Ms Newland claimed.
Newland: “If it was a genuine admission I would have mentioned the blindfold, the scarf, and all the other absurd things she said”. I can’t understand why she chose to ruin my life.
I just knew she found her sexuality impossible to accept.
The pair went on to communicate largely by phone but Newland denied lowering her voice when the complainant would ring “Kye”.
He asks why she sent the email.
She recounted how Kye explained that he was in hospital after being involved in a vehicle crash, and that during their examinations medics had discovered he had a brain tumour.
Her doubts about Kye’s identity was confirmed only when she saw a picture of the dog in a picture of Newland’s.
Defending, Nigel Power QC asked her: “Were you acting in the role as Kye?” “It was like in and out”. The relationship continued after more sexual encounters in hotel rooms until Fortune finally visited her apartment. Kye insisted the woman should wear a sleeping mask and not touch him during sex, Chester Crown Court heard.
The student said she was befriended by Kye while at the University of Chester in 2011, telling police his Facebook profile was utterly convincing, with multiple friends and photographs showing a “half-Filipino, half-Latino” man.
She told the court: “She was saying ‘What the hell?” Gayle is now on trial in Cheshire in the United Kingdom, where she is contesting five counts of sexual assault brought on by the friend she had duped. I didn’t have a clue what was going on. “I don’t think any of what she said to me was the truth, I don’t think she ever loved me”. “I feel it is only fair to give you the opportunity to tell the members of the jury about it”.
Newland replied: “Like I say I wish I knew. It was me and still is”.
She said that Kye and herself shared the same birth date, both liked RnB music and “chick flicks”, they had obsessive compulsive disorders and had a dog named Gypsy.
“She is a strong person and is smart but sometimes she is a bit unbalanced I guess”.
The defendant said: “Why would she believe that?” Coping with her sexuality.
I have been criticised for asking you questions about this email and text messages, but there are reasons for that.
Mr Corbett-Jones countered: “She believed you were a man”.
To hide the fact that Kye was a woman Newland allegedly bandaged her chest and wore a woolly hat, saying it was to cover injuries. The woman replied that she had been naive and needy but had wholeheartedly believed Kye was who he claimed to be. He came out of the bathroom and they had sex, the entire time with the woman wearing the blindfold.
