Albert Adomah is in Aitor Karanka’s plans, manager confirms
Tomlin quit Boro for newly-promoted Bournemouth weeks after Norwich shattered their Premier League dream.
“It’s disappointing”, said the Spaniard.
Karanka insists that Boro’s arrival time for the Championship play-off final was not the reason they missed out on promotion.
“If we think it’s going to be easy we are making a big mistake”.
Karanka will assess his returning worldwide players this morning, but it already looks unlikely that Cristhian Stuani will be starting on Saturday after he played for Uruguay in Costa Rica in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Boro have back to-back Riverside dates, with Brentford following on Tuesday night.
Speaking to MK Dons Player, Karl Robinson highlighted his team’s inability so far to “capitalise on our dominace” as his main problem.
“It is important for two things, the three points and to thank our crowd for their support, always”.
“Our players who have been on worldwide duty are back and have trained and their attitude, once again, was wonderful”.
Carlos de Pena signed on deadline-day from Uruguayan side Nacional to provide Karanka with additional options in the midfield area.
“He’s come from another league, another country but I’m really confident with him”.
It remains to be seen whether he is named in the squad for this weekend’s home game with MK Dons, but while there is still disappointment at his conduct both before and after the Bristol City game last month, there appears to be a collective desire to draw a line under the matter and move on.
Boro never made any official response to that request while there were no bids for the Ghana global before the window closed last week and it is understood the club are not minded to let him leave on loan as the loan window opens.
