All 13 Doctors will feature in LEGO Dimensions’ Doctor Who content – MCV
Lego has always been about making children’s dreams come true, but kids of all ages are forgiven for squee-ing at this unbelievable trailer for the Lego Dimensions video game.
Although it was previously leaked – by Lego itself no less – it has now been confirmed that Doctor Who will be joining the cast of the game/toy collection Lego Dimensions.
The game uses an interactive Lego pad which is plugged into games consoles.
Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle will team up with Doctor Who, The Simpsons, Ghostbusters, Jurassic World, Back to the Future and many more fan favourites in a mission to thwart Lord Vortech’s evil plan to collide all dimensions into one.
Here’s the best part, the bit that Doctor Who fans will geek out over big time. In a very cool twist, when you die in the game as the Doctor, he will return as the original Doctor and then regenerate up back to the 12th again, allowing you to play each of the Doctors in turn.
Now YOU can play the 12th Doctor (Peter Capaldi) as well as all of the other Doctors, including the War Doctor. We also got a view of the TARDIS flying, Daleks, Cybermen, K-9, Clara Oswald and Dalek Caan. “The interior of the TARDIS will reflect the corresponding Doctor the player embodies or can be manually selected”. Nifty, eh? A jukebox inside the TARDIS will let players choose from the many versions of the show’s theme music to listen to.
Original story 05.05.15: Last month, Warner Bros unveiled Lego Dimensions, a Skylanders-like toys-to-life venture which marries physical minifigures and models with a new videogame. Hopefully this includes some footage of LEGO Doctor Who in action! As with all LEGO Dimension kits, each object can be rebuilt up to three times to send three different things into the game.
LEGO Dimensions is supposed to get the Doctor Who Level Pack on November 3, 2015 which is certainly not going to be the first wave of content releases.
