Austin Wintory is probably best known for the memorable Journey soundtrack, but he’s lent his talents to loads of games – Counter-strike: Global Offensive, Sunset, The Banner Saga, Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine and The Order: 1886, to name just a few.
Today Ubisoft officially announced Assassin’s Creed Council, a new platform that allows a more direct dialogue between AC’s community and developers, the opportunity to receive exclusive content and to know all the details and information on Assassin’s Creed’s universe. “Calling upon the imagery of The Assassins’ deadly combat as a dance between the huntress and her prey, the waltzing music reflects this playful yet violent energy”. Yet, because of its intimacy it can also sneak up on you in ways a lumbering orchestra can’t.
It’ll be interesting to see how Wintory’s three-hour score fits into the overall mood and setting of the game.
Creating the music for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate wasn’t about imitating historic musical references for Wintory.
