Michigan dismisses OL Logan Tuley-Tillman from team
It’s hard to learn much out of a game against Weber State, but the defense did what it was supposed to do – Gary Andersen defenses are always tough – but the offense still showed it wasn’t quite ready, at least throwing the ball. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start time and it will be televised nationally on ABC. The San Diego native threw for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns and ran for 152 yards on 17 carries but is still expected to give some offensive series away to fellow freshman Marcus McMaryion. Utah completed 24 of 33 passes against Michigan, and even though the ball didn’t travel far downfield, there were plenty of holes in the Wolverine secondary.
A shaky initial start hasn’t diminished the faith Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh has in transfer quarterback Jake Rudock. It’s possible that junior running back Drake Johnson, who is recovering from ACL surgery, will play this week. “We’ll see what happens during the week.”EXTRA POINTS1”.
Spielman also noticed what most did – and what De’Veon Smith admitted: As Michigan’s primary back, Smith missed holes against the Utes. He could be the spark the Wolverines need. “He will be who he is and have his team prepared”.
“They are impressive”, Harbaugh said of the Beavers. “And we’ll grow from that”. It depends on whether Jake Rudock shows any improvement from the Utah game in which he threw three picks. Oregon State RB Storm Barrs-Woods needs 43 receiving yards to become the second player in school history to record at least 2,000 yards rushing and 1.000 receiving (Jacquizz Rodgers).3.
Coming across the country to play in a 9 a.m. local kickoff time will be taxing on the Oregon State team and Michigan is looking to get it figured out. Chris Wormley posted a team-high three tackles for loss while Jabrill Peppers and Mario Ojemudia each had two.
– Mario Ojemudia and Royce Jenkins-Stone had a rough go last week at Michigan’s “buck” linebacker position, especially in space against Utah quarterback Travis Wilson. The stickers are in the shape of blue and yellow footballs with a wolverine in the middle.
After watching film, Harbaugh did not absolve Rudock of his in-game mistakes, including two deep overthrows to open receivers, but said the entire offense had “fingerprints” on the breakdowns. But they might remember what he did. That’s one of the things about being coachable: Handling criticism.
It’s hard to see a veteran Michigan team losing at home to the youthful Beavers.
