Google Maps app gets significant update, here are four new features
In Google Maps app version 9.11, you can now remove elements by simply tapping on the screen. There is also a new image gallery for places – tap on a photo to get a grid view of all of the images helpful Googlers have posted to Maps. If you’re just scrolling and zooming around the map, removing the interface elements will let you see a lot more.
Google has once again updated the official iOS app of its mapping service with new features and improvements that make it an even more worthwhile competitor to Apple Maps and other mobile mapping apps. The company particularly mentions that maps can now also be shared on Facebook and Facebook Messenger.
Google has been quick to bring the feature over to iOS in a new Google Maps 4.8.0 update already available for download from the App Store.
In addition, the app update includes improved transit directions, offering more route choices and real-time arrival information in certain areas.
The sharing options allow you to send maps to your friends through the standard Android social features, while an update to the Google Photos integration will allow you to edit the captions for geotagged photos directly from the Maps app.
