New VW Caddy Gets Alltrack Version With Off-Road Styling And Optional AWD
Volkswagen’s Commercial Vehicles division will introduce a more rugged-looking version of the small Caddy van at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Caddy Alltrack is available in both van and passenger carrying versions. The successor to the Cross Caddy is called the Caddy Alltrack.
In the first instance it will be a visual identity, as the 4Motion all-wheel-drive technology will be an option on the Alltrack versions.
The VW Caddy Alltrack has a more rugged appearance thanks to the black trim panels on the wheel arches, black side sills and the lower edges of the bumpers. The black designer underbody protection is set off by additional silver accents.
The interior hasn’t been spared the glitz either, as specially designed seat covers, folding tables for the rear seats, and lashings of chrome across the dash add to the premium feel. Both vehicle variants come with a leather package for the steering wheel, handbrake lever and gear lever boot with Muscat-color stitching.
As well as its good looks, the Caddy also has plenty to offer beneath the surface.
A range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines are available on the latest Alltrack. The new Caddy Alltrack is also optionally available with 4MOTION all-wheel drive. The list of standard features includes an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and a five-inch touch screen.
In Germany, the Caddy Alltrack panel van carries a base price of €16,485, a sum that converts to approximately $19,000.
