Ravens first-round pick Breshad Perriman won’t play Sunday
Ravens declared RB Lorenzo Taliaferro, WR Breshad Perriman, CB Rashaan Melvin, OL Ryan Jensen, LB Za’Darius Smith, DL Christo Bilikudi and DT Timmy Jernigan inactive for Week 1 against the Broncos.
The Ravens and coach John Harbaugh have been evasive on the exact nature of the rookie’s injury but have said he is not a candidate for the Injured Reserve/Designated to Return list, suggesting that they are anticipating his return to practice at any time.
Perriman has been dealing with a knee injury that he suffered at the beginning of training camp.
Taliaferro’s activity appeared to be limited during the media-viewing portion of practice, but he did some sideline running and cutting without a limp during the low-speed session.
Melvin had not practiced all week until being a limited participant in Friday’s walk-through.
“That’s part of how it works, and we have guys on the practice squad who are ready to play”.
The Ravens may have a good track record in Denver, but they will have to fight a little harder to get home with a win this weekend.
Davis has been the Ravens’ most impressive rookie this summer, finishing as Baltimore’s highest-ranked defensive player in the preseason by Pro Football Focus.
The Ravens face the Broncos at Sports Authority Field on Sunday. Rookie Buck Allen will back up Justin Forsett against the Broncos.
