Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones Slams Amari Cooper’s Head onto Helmet, Doesn’t Get Ejected
JOSE CARLOS FAJARDO/TNS /Landov Adam Jones rips the helmet off of Raiders rookie Amari Cooper and shoves the wide receiver’s head into it.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Jones said that he was punched in the throat by Cooper, which caused the scuffle. “Things like that happen….”
After a series of incidents that warranted police involvement – Jones was at least interviewed by police in 10 different incidents before being disciplined – Jones was suspended for the entire 2007 season. Cooper doesn’t think that is necessary. I don’t think he should be suspended. “We were just playing physical”.
“There, I was “in the moment” in that play. Honestly, I didn’t even know I hit my head on the helmet.”
Jones can be seen in this video driving Cooper to the turf after a play had ended, using two hands to pin Cooper’s head to the turf.
As for Pacman? He responded on Instagram by saying, “Lmao!”
“It was tough”, Whitworth said of finding out when the team landed here Friday night that Smith was going to play. “Look at the film”. It was also the first time they won back-to-back openers since they won three straight from 2005-07….
“No matter you noticed occur, that is what occurred”, stated Jones, who has an extended historical past of doubtful on-field conduct. I’m here to play football.
The Raiders and Bengals are playing some testy football, which could mean a lot for what’s to come from Jack Del Rio’s club this season.
