Democratic Party activist files complaint against Grayson
When a local Sunday morning cable news show asked liberal US Rep. (and possible Senate candidate) Alan Grayson what he thought about the GOP presidential field, the Orlando Democrat made a surprising endorsement.
With Marco Rubio running for the presidency, that leaves his Senate seat wide open.
While many Democratic leaders fear Grayson is too divisive to win a general election, he has built a national support base through his blunt assessment of the Republican Party and the tea party movement.
“I can not, in good conscience, sit back and watch Alan Grayson continue embarrassing my party and my state”.
While Grayson has said little about his ambitions since May, he is doing well in polls against Murphy. In a survey of 881 registered Florida Democrats taken June 16-20, Gravis Marketing of Winter Springs gave Grayson a commanding lead, with 63 percent to Murphy’s 19 percent.
Sobel then went on to add that she is “proud to endorse” Murphy.
He’s also been involved in a messy divorce that has created unflattering headlines, and recently critics have raised ethical questions about three hedge funds he created.
The letter was sent to ex- Democratic congressman David Skaggs of Colorado, who serves as co-chairman of the Office of Congressional Ethics, which was established in 2008 to investigate misconduct allegations against House members and staff. Between 2013 and 2014, the office referred 17 cases to the full House ethics committee, which can choose to either investigate or toss the referrals.
Morgan said Wednesday that Grayson told him by email he is running for Senate. She said Grayson “has betrayed the trust of voters”. “Supporters of former Republican Patrick Murphy are on the attack because they can’t defend Murphy’s conservative record of siding with Wall Street and they know that Alan Grayson can’t be bought or bossed around”.
