Steven Gerrard was jealous of me at Liverpool, claims former team-mate El
Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard agrees with Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho that Mario Balotelli is “unmanageable.”
Diouf’s comments come after Gerrard said the 34-year-old was the signing he liked least during his time at Anfield.
I could see that, in the right mood, he was a quality footballer but the rest of his career seemed like a spectacular waste of talent.
“For example, the way he spat a huge globule of gunky phlegm at a Celtic fan in a UEFA Cup match at Parkhead in March 2003 summed up his contemptuous and spiteful demeanour,” he added.
The former Liverpool captain’s new book is causing a lot of controversy with digs aimed at Rafa Benitez, details of a horrific penis injury and much more contained in the bits that have been serialised so far this week. In a bravura display of self-aggrandizement, Diouf also described himself as a “big boss” and insisted that while he is “respected throughout world football”, Gerrard is not, per Radio Futur Media (h/t Gardiner).
Steven Gerrard says Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli will never be world class.
.
“I warned him. Liverpool are not a team that welcomes blacks unless they are British”. It is common knowledge that Gerrard has never liked blacks. He never dared look me in the eye all the time I was at the club.
He told Radio Futurs Medias during an interview on Tuesday, as reported by Le 10 Sport: “Gerrard is just jealous”. It seemed to me as if football got in the way of his social life. Six foot three, and one of the strongest men I’ve ever seen on a football pitch?
“In my last season, Brendan Rodgers came to me at Melwood one day in mid-August”.
El-Hadji Diouf, what a legend. “[Gerrard], wherever he goes outside his city of Liverpool, will be insulted”.
As well as just the one goal, he won only 11 out of 25 take-ons in the league last term, had a pass accuracy of 70% and created seven chances but none were converted into assists.
With racism being such a hot topic in soccer, it is no wonder that Diouf brought it into play, especially with Balotelli being brought into the mix. He said to Balotelli: ‘Well, you can now – and if you can’t then you’re going to learn’.
