Tyrone Crawford pleased with contract, pushing for more

DT Tyrone Crawford was asked on Friday afternoon in the Dallas Cowboys’ locker room with regards to the extension deal being close and what it would mean for him to get another contact term from the Americas Team.

Crawford, 25, was a third-round pick by the Cowboys and Stephen and Jerry Jones in the 2012 NFL Draft. After starring as a pass-rushing end at Boise State University in Idao, he saw backup duty in Dallas as a rookie, then missed his second season entirely after tearing an Achilles in training camp.

Suffice it to say, the Cowboys’ are big believers in Crawford’s upside.

Defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford will begin the 2015 season with long-term security.

Crawford switched position past year from end to tackle, and posted career highs with 33 tackles, three sacks, four tackles for loss and 29 quarterback pressures.

“I wasn’t sure I was going to like it because I’d never played inside”, Crawford said, “but it’s worked out great because I was never an elusive player”. “Coach [Rod] Marinelli said one of the hardest things to do in this game – and that’s get a sack on two consecutive plays”.

“He’s talented guy. He’s quick”. I think he’s playing technically better and better every day, but more than anything else he just has a relentless nature about him and it shows up every minute of every day.
