Scarlett Johansson is a seductive snake in Disney’s new ‘The Jungle Book’
The first trailer has been released for Disney’s upcoming live-action, CGI-enhanced Jungle Book movie, and it’s about as fantastical and exciting as you’d imagine. The story follows a young orphan boy raised in the jungles of India by a pack of wolves and his closest friends, a bear and a black panther.
Neel Sethi plays Mowgli in the live-action Jungle Book.
With other studios attempting live-action reboots of what we know as animated Disney classics with stuff like “Snow White and The Huntsman” and this year’s “Pan”, Disney chose to give it a shot with a classic.
The moment King Louie is revealed looks to be a very special one, as the orangutan appears much, much larger than his animated, dancing counterpart. Hearing Scarlett Johansson, an actress I genuinely think is talented, trying to pull a Cobra Commander as the snake Kaa is excruciating.
“The Jungle Book” also stars the voice talents of Giancarlo Esposito as Akela and Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha.
Unlike the trailer that was shown at Disney’s D23 convention, this teaser does not feature Bill Murray (Baloo) singing The Bare Necessities: instead we hear him briefly whistling the song’s refrain.
“The Jungle Book” was originally a set of Rudyard Kipling stories for children collected into a single volume and published in 1894. Those actors include Bill Murray (Baloo), Christopher Walken (King Louie), Idris Elba (Shere Khan), Scarlett Johansson (Kaa) and Ben Kingsley’s Bagheera.
The film hits theaters on April 15, 2016. Favreau spoke to Now that the primary glimpse is right here we will exclusively ask, do you consider? Andy Serkis’ “Jungle Book: Origins”, starring Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch and Christian Bale, will debut in 2017.
