Can Cowboys perform w/o Dez
The Cowboys suffered a big blow with the loss of Dez Bryant.
The Dallas Cowboys will start the process of replacing Dez Bryant by bringing veteran receivers Hakeem Nicks, Nick Toon, Austin Pettis and Clyde Gates to Valley Ranch for workouts Tuesday, a source told ESPN. Nicks, 27, has the best rsum among the receivers being worked out.
From a fantasy football standpoint, Bryant was probably your second round pick and best receiver. Running back Lance Dunbar was used heavily as a receiving threat in Week 1 as he finished with eight receptions for 70 yards.
FANTASY: What does Bryant’s injury mean for value of other Cowboys? Still, the beat goes on and as the Cowboys prepare for the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night and Bryant settles into rest and rehab for the next four to six weeks, potential Dez replacements are reportedly being eyed by the team. He played in 13 games in 2012, finishing with 53 catches for 692 yards and three touchdowns. It was later revealed that Bryant had broken his foot, which carried an initial expected timetable for return of four to six weeks. Injuries, however, limited his effectiveness and his overall production and ultimately led to his parting ways with New York. Nicks struggled with injuries and contract squabbles in his last two years with the Giants and turned in a quiet year for the Colts in 2014 before failing to make the Titans this summer. So the cowgirls got lucky and pulled one out.
