Rory McIlroy ‘not convinced LVG is the right person’ for Manchester United

As was largely expected throughout the ever-changeable summer transfer period, Louis van Gaal and Manchester United eventually saw fit to part ways with striker Robin van Persie after three relatively successful seasons at Old Trafford.

At a time when there is a lot of discussion over whether United are losing their identity under van Gaal, the golfer has had his say about the manager.

The Argentina keeper has kept three clean sheets in his opening four Premier League games for United since arriving on a free transfer in the summer from Serie A side Sampdoria.

“Playing for United is a dream and if God helps me this dream will never end,” the 28-year-old Romero told the Argentinian daily La Nacion.

Sergio added that it is significant for a goalkeeper to have this kind of support as there is no rotation between goalkeepers, the Guardian reported.

“I think the new signings will be good in time, but I’m not convinced LVG is the right man to lead us”, he told Sky Sports.

“I would argue Louis van Gaal can not even afford to draw it”, he said.

De Gea, United’s player of the season for the past two years, could return to the starting XI for this Saturday’s (12 September) clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford, the scene of one of his many heroic performances last season.

Louis Van Gaal is targeting Anderson and Biglia in hopes of shaping up his midfield and attacking options, according to TuttoMercato in Italy.

United have scored just six goals in their last 10 Premier League games and Wayne Rooney has gone 763 minutes without a league goal.

Having shone for the under-21s for quite some time now, and with his future secured, the most sensible thing would be to send him out on loan to the Championship and finally give him regular first-team football.
