Doctor Who Coming to LEGO Dimensions, Video Released
It’s finally here – the first trailer for LEGO Dimensions to feature Doctor Who!
The company is investing a lot into the development and launch of LEGO Dimensions, making sure that the various included franchises, from DC Comics to Portal, offer content that will appeal to fans. The new game hopes to merge physical LEGO brick building with interactive console gameplay, a new take on the dynamic that has made Disney Infinite, Nintendo Amiibos and Skylanders so popular.
Visitors to the San Diego Comic-Con also have the opportunity to be among the first to play LEGO Dimensions.
Here’s the best part, the bit that Doctor Who fans will geek out over big time. One lovely touch is that each Doctor is matched with the Tardis control room from his tenure, from the early black-and-white version to today’s epic set.
BBC’s legendary character “The Doctor” will be joining the LEGO Dimensions video game, alongside Batman, Homer Simpson, Gandalf and others.
Could Peter Capaldi and his Doctor Who co-stars be stopping by one of those days? Hopefully this includes some footage of LEGO Doctor Who in action! The “Doctor Who Fun Pack” comes with a Cyberman minifigure and parts for a Dalek. He regenerates into the 1st Doctor, and continues to regenerate with each death, cycling back up to the 12th Doctor. The Pack comes with a playable minifigure of the 12th Doctor, along with two objects you can bring into the game: the TARDIS and K-9, the Doctor’s robot dog that infrequently appears on the show. It even includes the not-Doctor “War Doctor”, who was played by John Hurt in the 50 Anniversary special. You can find further details below with descriptions from Warner Bros. themselves. The TARDIS and K-9 models can each be physically built and then rebuilt twice to do entirely different things in the game.
