Rubio says FSU remarks just “football trash talk”

Now, for those that might be unaware, Rubio graduated from the University of Florida, and it pretty much goes without saying that the two sides have no love lost for one another.
Rubio said Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.) would be the best senator that could also be a good football player.
Rubio, a Miami native, said while he doesn’t root against the Hurricanes, he wouldn’t mind seeing Miami get defeated by Florida State if it would help Florida secure a playoff bid.
I guess we’ll give some context here: Rubio has a bachelor’s degree from University of Florida, FSU’s biggest rival. “And that’s why we have Florida State”.
“I grew up in Miami”, Rubio said.
“I’m sure he’s frustrated by his low standing in the polls, which I believe could be a reflection of where he got his education”, Thrasher added.
