Microsoft to announce its next Windows 10 hardware on October 6
Microsoft’s new gadgets are expected to build on the new features of Windows 10, which debuted in July.
The new Windows 10 device in question could in all probability be the Surface Pro 4 tablet, a successor to the immensely popular Surface Pro 3 released previous year.
Invitations have been sent out by Microsoft to the press event taking place in New York in October, focusing on Windows 10-powered devices.
Single hop updates are again available from Windows Phone 8.1 to Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview for all devices.
The Microsoft Band launched last October, so is due a refresh.
It can’t be a coincidence that Microsoft is announcing something about Windows 10 devices at an event in New York City. The general consensus among tech bloggers is that this means the Surface Pro 4 (as well as a couple of Windows phones).
If the Apple iPad Pro didn’t validate the Microsoft Surface 2-in-1 hardware, surely new products from Lenovo and Dell will. Earlier this month, Lenovo debuted the Surface-like Miix 700 tablet and now it appears Dell has a similar product in the works.
Microsoft will live stream the October 6 event right here.
It’s also thought to have a fingerprint scanner and redesigned keyboard. Cityman and Talkman will thus be the only phones catering to the premium segment.
How many have forgotten all about Windows 10 Mobile? On the photography front, both the handsets are said to come with a 21-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie sensor. And considering how old these devices are, any update, at this point, should be taken with a smile as Microsoft has essentially moved on from Windows RT and left it for the vultures. “In this build, we have also enabled the ability to use one-handed mode on all phones which can be enabled by pressing and holding the Start button”, wrote Gabe Aul, general manager of the Data and Fundamentals unit in Microsoft’s Operating Systems group, in September 14 online update. The Lumia 950 XL will allegedly feature a bigger 5.7-inch display, an eight-core Snapdragon 810 processor, and a 3300mAh battery.
