Accenture strengthens cloud play with Cloud Sherpas acquisition
Founded in 2007, Cloud Sherpas is a global cloud advisory company and claims to be “one of the top cloud service providers for Google, Salesforce and ServiceNow”. Cloud Sherpas also has Fullforce Masters designations in Service Cloud, Sales Cloud and Financial Services from Salesforce.
The move will further strengthen Accenture’s position as the leading enterprise cloud services provider and enhance its ability to provide clients with unparalleled cloud strategy, technology consulting, and cloud application implementation, integration and management services.
Accenture is to acquire advisory firm Cloud Sherpas, for an undisclosed fee, in a bid to beef up its cloud consultancy as more enterprises seek help with their hybrid computing strategies.
“Accenture’s Cloud First agenda is a game-changer that offers transformational cloud services to help clients move their businesses to the cloud and achieve significant business results quickly”, said Paul Daugherty, chief technology officer of Accenture.
Atlanta-based Cloud Sherpas has a similar mission statement, offering to guide enterprises through their cloud migrations. “Cloud Sherpas is coming in and complementing our capabilities”, he said. Since then, Cloud Sherpas has won multiple partner of the year awards from vendors such as Google, Salesforce and Service Now.
David Nothington, CEO of Cloud Sherpas, said the organisation should prove a good fit for Accenture’s “cloud-first” push.
Salesforce’s vice chairman and president, Keith Block, welcomed news of the acquisition, saying it would benefit his business.
As well as acquisitions, Accenture has previously embarked on a series of partnerships with tech firms such as Microsoft and Oracle to assist enterprises with adopting cloud technologies.
The combination of two strategic partners is exciting for our ecosystem and proof positive of momentum around our Customer Success Platform.
