Celtic issue letter urging ‘smelly’ supporters to turn up clean to matches
The club issued a statement to fans “reminding them to wash” after receiving various complaints saying some fan had body odor that impacted others fans’ experience, per The Independent.
The bizarre intervention comes after fans complained about a smelly fellow supporter.
Celtic bosses refused to comment on the matter but the report has caused quite a stink in British media outlets with major titles carrying coverage.
Season ticket holders in the main stand at Celtic Park, where the pong has been reported, were sent a letter by officials.
Supporters from one section of the stadium were stunned to receive a letter reminding them not to turn up to games stinking of BO.
No doubt Celtic would have preferred to have kept this controversial letter under wraps.
But Taylor took to Twitter to confirm the letter.
After there were suggestions that the letter was a hoax, Taylor tweeted: “I can exclusively reveal its genuine, dispatched at the request of incumbents within the locale”.
