The Witness Confirmed to Release in January 2016
In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Jonathan Blow has revealed that The Witness will be released on January 16th, 2016.
Here’s a quick timeline to give you some idea of how significant The Witness finally getting a release date really is: Braid came out in August 2008, and Blow started working on The Witness later that year. No word yet on the specific plot of the game beyond that, but the sights and sounds already look gorgeous, reminiscent of old exploration titles like Myst. The Witness will initially release on PlayStation 4 before coming to other platforms once the timed exclusivity deal expires.
The diverse locations across the island are on full display in this new trailer: colorful gardens and beaches, crumbled ruins and abandoned laboratories, strange observatories and underground corridors, all with their own maze-like puzzles to solve. He needed to correct his past statement by clarifying that the project had grown drastically, and players can now expect to play for anywhere from 80-100 hours to complete and find everything hidden throughout the world. Are you interested in playing though a first-person puzzle game like The Witness?
