Congress says wake up Kejriwal to stop rising dengue cases
To handle the rising dengue cases, Delhi government had on Wednesday ordered 600 new beds to be set up at three hospitals in Janakpuri, Ashok Vihar and Tahirpur areas.
The court also sought responses from the NDMC and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on the steps being taken for the prevention of dengue.
The court, which issued notices, said the petitioner should have researched more before filing the present PIL as there were other writ petitions filed earlier in this regard.
Delhi government instructed private hospitals in national capital region to increase their bed strength by 10 to 20 percent by September 20, in its effort to treat dengue patients.
Following his death, Avinash’s parents committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the building they lived in.
The protest followed comments by senior Congress leaders critical of the central and Delhi governments’ handling of the dengue situation in the national capital.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Health Minister Satyendra Jain had have been carrying out surprise checks at hospitals in the capital.
“We have approached private medical practitioners in Delhi who can treatment patients free of cost”.
“The Delhi Government is insensitive to the problems. In the next couple of days, we will call a special session of the Legislative Assembly to bring in the law”, Kejriwal had said. “They will give the list of dengue patients to the local malaria inspector, following which it will become necessary for them to fog the houses where the patients are found”, Pandey added.
The family members of six-year-old Aman, who died on Sunday, alleged on Tuesday that several hospitals declined him admission while the child was running up a fever.
The child’s condition became serious and was taken to Saket City hospital.
