Emily Blunt should leave Hollywood — Fox News
Recently, she joked to The Hollywood Reporter that after watching the GOP debate she thought that becoming a citizen was “a terrible mistake.” .
Actress Emily Blunt recently became an American citizen after years of living and working in the country.
The comments from Blunt come as she promotes her new film “Sicario” with Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin during this month’s Toronto Film Festival.
“I’m not sure I’m entirely thrilled about it”, she said.
Blunt doubled down on the comment Tuesday during a conversation with PEOPLE, when the mag asked her if filming the movie scared her.
“So I think that’s why the rumours happen, because they’re like, “Who else?” I think I know more about American history than I do about British history, which is interesting.
One of the potted plants presenters on Fox News’ morning show “Fox and Friends” has advised British actress Emily Blunt to “leave Hollywood”. She stated final week on that though she now has twin citizenship, her oath technically required her to swear non-allegiance to Queen Elizabeth. What does “Dixie Chicked” mean, you may be wondering? Screenwriter Taylor Sheridan had some pressure to change the lead character to a man, but, thankfully for Blunt, Sheridan held out until an investor could get onboard with the female protagonist.
STEVE DOOCY: You know what Emily Blunt just did?
Mr Doocy was referring to the band the Dixie Chicks, which was reviled by Republicans after saying during a concert in London that they were “ashamed” of President George W Bush over the Iraq War. She’d just proven her action bona fides in Edge of Tomorrow, making her an obvious choice for the bold, badass Carol Danvers.
Blunt hasn’t responded yet but chances are she’ll stay quiet on this one.
