Kohl’s, Toys ‘R’ Us among stores hiring large numbers this holiday season

Kohl’s expects to hire 250 workers at its five Delaware retail stores this holiday season.

Vallejo’s Kohl’s store will likely hire some 50 associates in advance of the holiday season, a company spokeswoman said Friday.

“We want to ensure we provide the excellent service and easy experience Kohl’s customers expect, whether shopping in stores or online”, said Richard Schepp, Kohl’s chief administrative officer.

In-store seasonal associates will help in fulfilling orders purchased online, but picked up in store, as well as freight processing duties and customer service on the sales floor and cashier counters.

It is not yet clear how many seasonal associates will be assigned to stores in southeastern Wisconsin.

Kohl’s began hiring its wave of seasonal staff in August and will likely have most positions filled by mid-November. Store hiring is up about 2 percent and hiring at its distribution centers and credit operations also have increased from a year ago, she said. Another 660 of the seasonal employees will work in credit operations.
