West Ham win at Manchester City wouldn’t be a shock – Slaven Bilic
If we play to our best, it’s going to be a very hard game for City.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic claims it would not be a shock if the Hammers beat Manchester City on Saturday.
However, the Croatian believes the Hammers have a way to counteract other teams nullifying his impact in games, and is not concerned.
“We have done it already at Arsenal and Liverpool so we know what we have to do to give ourselves a chance”, he said.
City made a limp defence of their crown last season, finishing eight points behind champions Chelsea, but after splashing out more than £150million in the summer, they appear rejuvenated this term. Because I am giving everything and I am in the best form of my career.
“It’s not a normal week because of Monday to Saturday”, boss Slaven Bilic said.
“The quality is there, it’s extreme”.
The West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan is braced for the club to record a loss of up to £17m over their final season at Upton Park after a summer of heavy spending in the transfer market aimed at ensuring they start life at the Olympic Stadium in the Premier League.
Bilic’s men moved up to fifth place in the Premier League table with a 2-0 win against Newcastle on Monday but their off-field exploits are likely to come at a financial cost. Nikica Jelavic and Michael Antonio have yet to represent the club but will have significant roles to play, while they also have four high-profile loanees to inflate the annual wage bill for the season to around £70m.
“That’s why they are great players”. ‘I’m not comparing him to Messi, Ronaldo or David Silva but he can do it. Dimitri is playing in a position where you have to close him down.
“Pedro Obiang got a knock on his ankle, it’s nothing major, of course, and he should train today”.
“We will ask him if he will be fit, he will probably be involved”.
