Cosby accusers to speak in A&E special
The cable network released a 30-second trailer for the show on Monday.
The special is set to air Thursday and will feature intimate interviews with accusers, who all tell eerily similar stories of how they got involved with Cosby.
Among the 12 women expected to participate in Thursday night’s special, we only know of three: Beverly Johnson, actress Louisa Moritz, and publicist Joan Tarshis. Johnson previously wrote a lengthy essay for Vanity Fair where she spoke about Bill slowly winning her confidence before aggressively insisting that she try a drugged cappuccino while visiting his home one day.
The special will also explore how comedian Hannibal Burress brought the allegations against Cosby back to the forefront of media attention, and how the entertainer’s spokespeople have since responded to the controversy.
Whether or not Cosby will speak out after the special airs remains to be seen.
In a recent appearance on Good Morning America to promote her upcoming memoir, The Face That Changed It All, the supermodel discussed the Cosby scandal and her own involvement. ‘I don’t curse on stage!’ Yeah, but you’re a rapist … “I’ve done this bit on stage and people act like I’m making it up”.
The special comes as the weight of allegations against Cosby continue to mount and follow the revelations from his 2005 deposition. 17 at 9 p.m. EDT on A&E.
