James Wilson: Not Available For Loan
The highly-rated youngster has been interesting Championship clubs after Man United’s £36 million capture of 19-year-old French striker Anthony Martial.
Manchester United are said to be ready to keep hold of James Wilson despite links of a loan exit, according to Wolves boss Kenny Jackett, as reported by the Daily Mail.
However, Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal appears to have changed his mind about allowing Wilson to leave on loan.
“The information is he’s not available”, he said.
So far this season Jackett has seemed undecided as to who out of Martinez and long-serving Carl Ikeme is best equipped to start for the club in between the sticks, however he hinted that the former is likely to be his number one for the season. The timing of it is always something and if he was available would there be some interest from us? “There has been in the past, yes”.
The sides played out 1-1 draws both home and away last season, with Danny Batth scoring a late equaliser at Molineux and Rajiv van La Parra cancelling out Bruno’s opener at the Amex. “I wouldn’t hesitate to give them an opportunity if I thought it was necessary”.
Meanwhile, the Championship club’s manager has denied any interest in signing Crystal Palace’s out-of-favour forward Frazer Campbell, after reports suggested that Wolves were keen on a loan move.
The winger continued, “I didn’t come particularly close to leaving”.
