Trump cites ‘double standard’ in comments about Fiorina’s appearance
“I think there needs to be accommodation for someone acting on their faith”, he said.
She can afford to smile. She didn’t let Trump get under her skin and she sent out a message to others that Trump isn’t so big an obstacle to her as he and the media might have assumed.
Carly Fiorina: Well, that would be great but it’s still very early on. Those plans may now have to go on hold.
Trump’s rhetoric Wednesday, however, was decidedly more complimentary.
There were a couple of signature moments.
More recently, Rolling Stone magazine quoted Trump as saying this about Carly Fiorina, one of his more persistent critics: “Look at that face!”.
Donald Trump released his financial disclosure today and says he made more than $200 million during the 14 seasons of The Apprentice reality show. Would anyone vote for that?
That’s not the only sign that she talks a much better game than she plays.
“I think she’s got a lovely face, and I think she’s a handsome woman”, Trump said.
If we allow Obama to veto this bill, shame on us, she said. Fiorina’s response was the ideal mix of conservatism and “yeah, sistah!” It is a gesture. Trump was wrong about Scott Walker and the finances of Wisconsin, and Ted Cruz misstated some aspects of the Iran nuclear deal. “And this nation will be better off when every woman has the opportunity to live the life she chooses”. Warren County GOP Chairman Ray Warrick said a post-debate straw poll at a tea party group’s watch party put Fiorina at the top, leapfrogging U.S. Sen. By not brooking dissent, Fiorina ensured that few opponents would be around to challenge her power. Ms. Dole ran on her gender, arguing America ought to elect its first female president-which was no argument at all.
Republican Nominee Fiorina? That’s probably still a longshot for now.
Many commentators on Twitter and television praised Fiorina’s performance.
For a Republican to win in November, he or she must carry the moderate suburbs in the swing states: the counties around Denver, suburban northern Virginia, suburban Florida, and suburban Cleveland; while at the same time running up huge margins in the rural parts of these swing states.
