Four Missouri football players involved in auto accident
The four players were defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr., wide receiver DeSean Blair, wide receiver Keyon Dilosa and running back Trevon Walters.
According to the Columbia Tribune, the incident occurred “shortly before 4 p.m.” at the corner of College Ave. and University Dr. near campus.
Columbia Fire Department Battalion Chief Stephen Potter said the woman driving the other vehicle involved also was transported to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Tigers head coach Gary Pinkel arrived later to survey the scene.
According to Mizzou Athletics media relations director Chad Moller, Beckner Jr. and Dilosa were treated and released at the scene of the accident.
Even without Brantley, the Tigers’ defense has performed well in its first two games against Southeast Missouri State and Arkansas State. Walters had already suffered a knee injury during spring practice and was likely to miss the majority of the 2015 season. No. 22 Missouri (2-0) now leads the SEC in total defense, allowing 209 yards per game.
Beckner, a key reserve from East St. Louis, Ill., and last year’s Post-Dispatch All-Metro Defensive Player of the Year, has four tackles through two games.
Dilosa and Blair are part of an unproven receiving corps that has struggled with consistency.
