FACT CHECK: Republican debate features a few inflated claims
Donald Trump says all of the candidates who participated in Wednesday’s primetime Republican presidential debate performed well.
It was the night when almost everyone ganged up on Trump, which came as no surprise to anyone who can read a poll – all of which, as Trump might have mentioned, he’s leading. Trump said. “That’s no big deal for me”. “There was nobody that did poorly”.
Donald Trump might have not won the GOP debate on CNN, nonetheless his popularity chart is breaking all previous records.
“I was being hit 15 different ways”, he said. “It doesn’t call for a smile when we’re talking about very serious issues that impact people’s lives”, said Fiorina.
The former boss of Hewlett-Packard replied, to thunderous applause: “I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr Trump said“.
“I think that Carly did well”, Trump said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Thursday. I want to see the personalities of these candidates and hear their ideas.
Trump said he was treated “fairly” by CNN and moderator Jake Tapper, a far cry from the first debate on Fox News which he blasted immediately afterward for being unfair and for the hosts being unprofessional.
The eleven Republican candidates on the debate stage Wednesday night may have let out some surprising jabs and zingers in the heat of debate last night, but recurring references still dominated the discussion.
RICK SANTORUM: I don’t know how many Democrats I had on my bill…
“And I have had good times and bad in my life, as all of us have. A life is measured in love and positive contribution and moments of grace”, she said. “I was involved with virtually every question”. This was Christie at his best – a rational voice with a bit of humor, and little sign of the bullying tough guy New Jerseyans have learned to dislike.
Throughout the debate, Mrs Fiorina proved the only person to challenge Mr Trump in a significant way.
“I don’t think there was much difference between his performance in the first debate and the second debate”, Kyle Kondik, managing editor of the University of Virginia’s newsletter on United States campaigns and elections, told Mashable.
She declared herself “satisfied” and was asked if there was a moment in the three-hour marathon if she knew she was doing well.
