Burger offers free cheeseburgers for National Cheeseburger Day
The most important national holiday of the year has officially arrived (no offense, national hot dog day.) We’ve gathered up the best deals from around the country to make sure you’re well-fed with cheeseburger-y goodness. It would be nearly un-American not to eat a cheeseburger today. WCK serves two different cheeses on the burgers, aged cheddar and bleu cheese. So who first came up with the idea?
Several stories claim the cheeseburger was created between 1924 and 1926 by California chef, Lionel Sternberger. Some say the teenager was working as a short-order cook at a little place on famous Route 66 when he added a slice of cheese to a burger, and the rest, as they say, is food history!
