Shooting task force offers $50K reward in N. Colorado
May 18: John Jocoby was shot and killed as he rode his bike in Windsor.
The FBI is now offering $50,000 for help solving a series of roadside shootings in northern Colorado.
The task force brings together investigators with the FBI, the sheriff’s offices of Larimer and Weld counties, and the Windsor and Loveland police departments.
“To date, there is no indication that any of those incidents are related to the cases under investigation by the Northern Colorado Shooting Task Force”, Moore said.
Rather, the announcement appears to be an update on some of the inner workings of the multi-agency task force that was created earlier this year.
The Northern Colorado Task Force is now investigating two incidents involving a firearm from September 13 at Banner Health Center and Cottonwood Plains Elementary School in Fort Collins.
The same day, an elementary school in the area reported to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Department that it too was damaged by a firearm. It’s possible there will be more information about that truck on Thursday.
“The task force will monitor and investigate the details surrounding those incidents; however there is no information to indicate they are related to the four original shootings”, Moore said.
The task force is teaming up with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to increase the amount.
Moore said there are 26 members working on the task force. That was about two miles from where Bill Connole was shot and killed at East First Street and St. Louis Avenue later that night.
Moore said the task force has processed more than 340,385 cell phone numbers, followed more than 2,550 leads, and conducted over 500 interviews.
At this point in time, officers could not confirm that any of these windows were shattered by a bullet.
