Women Hold The Keys To Model X Success
Tesla’s Model S has a big front truck, commonly known as the “Frunk”, and is a huge advantage for people who roam around with a lot of stuff, but it can’t fit even one golf bag. But as safety records improved, and the Tesla brand name gained acceptance, more and more women became comfortable in making the shift to the electric vehicle.
It’s believed that range was one of the issues that caused delays in terms of the production of the Tesla Model X. Tesla may still be looking at new ways to increase the range for their Model X cars. The S begins at $seventy five, 000; Tesla has not launched the complete specs for the Mannequin X. Although women buy just 40 percent of cars in the US, they purchase 53 percent of small SUVs and 48 percent of small premium SUVs.
The Model S starts at US$75,000; Tesla has not released the full specifications for the Model X. The participants were asked what they liked and didn’t like about their vehicles. Design chief Franz von Holzhausen headed the discussion. “I can’t wait to get it”.
The automaker’s very first SUV has been fitted with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery that is expected to give drivers around 250 miles on a single charge.
CEO Elon Musk has high expectations for the Model X’s appeal to women. Women will likely play a much larger role in Model X sales.
The car runs entirely on advanced batteries, which charge through “Porsche Turbo Charging System” via 800-volt port, to approximately 80 per cent of its capacity in just 15 minutes, which is a record time for electric vehicles. By 2013, women accounted for 18 percent of Model S’s US registrations. The Nationwide Freeway Visitors Security Administration, or NHTSA, awarded the Mannequin S a 5-star security ranking in August 2013.
“If you have three kids, you really need a third-row seat”, said Shapiro, who lives in Miami and is an IBM project manager. Now Tesla is trying to stoke sales of the Model S with a customer referral program. He sold it in May of this year so that he could afford the X, which he reserved in June 2012. “My kids are excited about the falcon wing doors”.
Tesla unveiled the Model X during February 2012, and soon started accepting pre-orders. A majority of Tesla Motor’s initial customers were tech-savvy male enthusiasts. In 2012, the first year of Model S sales, women accounted for only 13.3 percent of US registrations.
